Overview
The Great Rift Lakes Circuit is a four-day journey through the heart of the East African Rift connecting three iconic lakes: Lake Naivasha, Lake Bogoria, and Lake Baringo.
This tour targets nature lovers, birders, and photographers seeking a safari beyond the Big Five. Lake Naivasha offers boat trips to hippo colonies and a walking safari on Crescent Island among giraffes and zebras. Lake Bogoria impresses with active geysers, hot springs, and – during peak season – up to two million flamingos.
Lake Baringo ranks as East Africa’s bird paradise, with over 470 documented species. The route also leads to Menengai Crater, one of the world’s largest calderas, and the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint with spectacular views over the rift escarpments.
Accommodations sit directly on water or at exposed locations with wide views – sunrises over lakes and evenings under stars rank among this journey’s finest moments.
