Honest answers from people who live there
A question we often hear
“How much does a safari cost?” – this question can’t be answered without context. Kenya is a
huge country with many national parks, hundreds of camps and lodges,
different travel seasons, and countless possibilities. A blanket answer
wouldn’t be honest.
What we can offer you: transparency. We are Filiz and John, we live in
Diani Beach, and we organize safaris with genuine local knowledge, personal
dedication, and transparent pricing. This page explains what goes into the price of a safari—so you understand what you’re booking.
What's included in a reputable safari package
A safari in Kenya consists of several cost components that vary depending on
the destination, season, and accommodation. We include all of these items in our calculations:
National park fees
Every national park in Kenya charges an entrance fee per person per day. In
popular destinations such as the Masai Mara, these can be
substantial during the high season. These fees are fixed, regulated by law, and always
fully included in our price—correctly billed, with no deductions.
Transportation and Guide
A private 4×4 jeep with an experienced, professional guide is the heart of
every safari. We work exclusively with guides whom we know personally
and whose work we trust. Quality in a guide means: more
wildlife sightings, more knowledge, more safety, a better experience.
Accommodation
From comfortable tented camps to lodges right by the waterhole – the
accommodation is often the biggest cost factor of a safari. We only book accommodations
that we know personally and can recommend to our guests with a clear conscience
. What we promise is exactly what you get.
Transfer
Travel to and from the reserve—whether by jeep or domestic flight—is another
significant expense. With us, the transfer is always clearly stated and included in the
quote.
Our Hours and Services
Planning, communication in German, personalized consultation, and on-site availability—all of this takes time and is a genuine part of the price. As a local provider in Diani, we are always here for you in person: before your trip, during the safari, and afterward.
What factors determine your price?
Travel season
Kenya has distinct high and low seasons. The high season, from July to
October—the time of the Great Migration in the Masai Mara—is the most expensive and
spectacular time of the year. The low season offers significantly lower prices
while still boasting excellent wildlife density.
We would be happy to advise you on which time of year best suits your budget and preferences.
The destination
Kenya offers a wide variety of national parks and reserves—from the world-famous
Masai Mara to Tsavo East and West, and on to the Taita Hills or Amboseli, with views
of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Each destination has its own park fees, logistics costs, and
accommodation prices.
We know all the destinations personally and will find the
perfect experience for you.
The accommodation category
A simple, unpretentious tented camp and a lodge with a pool and views of a waterhole vary widely in price—both can be the right choice for different
travelers.
We offer options in every category, always with an honest
assessment of what you can expect.
Group size
Fixed costs, such as the jeep and guide, are split among all participants.
The more people
travel, the cheaper it is per person.
For couples, families, or small groups
, we calculate the best possible price.
Individual requests
Sunrise hot-air balloon safari, visit to a Maasai village, night game drive,
private guided tour for photographers – Kenya offers countless unique experiences.
We would be happy to arrange this
as an add-on to your safari.

Why a local provider is the right partner

from Europe to unknown subcontractors. We are based locally—and you’ll
notice the difference.
