Overview
The 7-Day Kenya Wildlife Safari | Samburu to Masai Mara takes you through Kenya’s most significant ecosystems and the UNESCO-listed Rift Valley landscapes. The Samburu National Reserve in the northeast is home to endemic animal species such as reticulated giraffes, Beisa oryx, Grevy’s zebras, gerenuks, and Somali ostriches, and lies along the vital Ewaso Ng’iro River, which provides water during dry seasons.
Lake Naivasha is a large freshwater lake with extensive papyrus swamps and Africa’s only volcanic national park, Hell’s Gate, where hikes and bike tours through narrow gorges and hot springs are possible. Thomson’s Falls on the Nyahururu River plunge over 70 meters into a moss-covered gorge.
Lake Nakuru National Park was one of the first protected areas for rhinos; today it is home to both species of rhino and is famous for its flamingo-filled algae blooms. The Masai Mara in the southwest is part of the Serengeti Migration Plain, known for its high concentration of predators and the annual migration of millions of wildebeests and zebras.
